The Cup
What it tastes like
Bold and structured, with a blackcurrant acidity that lingers into a red apple sweetness and a low note of cacao.
The Origin
Where it comes from
The volcanic red soils of Mount Kenya's foothills give this coffee its distinctive intensity. Smallholder farmers deliver ripe cherry daily to the Kiangoi wet mill.
The People
Who grows it
Sourced in partnership with Kiangoi Farmers Cooperative Society, whose relationship with our roastery goes beyond a single harvest.
The Process
Washed
Processed using the washed method, chosen by the producer for how it expresses this particular lot.
The Roast
Medium-Light roast
A slightly extended development time tempers the natural acidity of SL28 without dulling its signature brightness.
Brew It
How we drink it
Excellent as a French press — the fuller body carries the fruit well.
