How to Build a Better Morning Coffee Ritual
Camille Roussel · 28 April 2026 · 5 min read
A routine is something you get through. A ritual is something you get to. The difference is attention — the decision to notice what you are doing while you are doing it, rather than treating it as a delay before the day begins.
In practice, this can be small: grinding beans by hand instead of pressing a button, warming the cup before you pour, standing at the window for the minute it takes water to bloom over grounds. None of this makes the coffee taste meaningfully different. All of it changes how present you are for it.
We built our subscription around this idea — coffee that arrives freshly roasted, so the ritual never has to compete with a stale cup.
